Whenever people interact, there is a justice system in place, which can be more or less conscious, more or less restorative or more or less punitive. Wherever people get together, there are conflicts. It would be naive and censuring to try to suppress them so let’s instead go closer to the conflicts, to actually become safer.

Let’s investigate how we can support conflicts, support ourselves and each other in having space to deal with and learn from conflicts, how to create a space to listen and understand and change.

We will investigate what works well and what doesn’t work so well when conflicts become painful as well as the context in which conflicts happen – in the relation to ourselves, in the relation to each other and in the systemic conditions.

We will go through the elements for creating a restorative system and for hosting circles – the preconditions for a restorative system, the structure of pre-circle/circle/post-circle, shared power, mutual understanding, self-responsibility, action plan and the reflective dialogue process to accompany conflicts so that everyone feels heard.

We will do different practical and reflective exercises and read some texts.

If you are interested, please write to Maria Nørholm (Walls & Space): before the 1st of March, 2017.

We look forward. Best,

Maria Nørholm Walls & Space

Activist and Restorative Circles Facilitator
